Lopburi Legal — The Firm
A Quiet Office for Careful Work
We are a small inheritance law practice based in the heart of Lopburi. Our work is almost entirely in probate proceedings and estate administration — matters that deserve steady attention and plain communication.

Lopburi Legal was established to fill a practical gap: families in the central provinces who needed careful, attentive inheritance counsel without having to travel to Bangkok or engage a large general firm where estate work is handled by junior staff.
The practice is deliberately small. We take on a limited number of matters each quarter so that every client receives the time a proceeding actually requires. Inheritance proceedings involve property that has meaning beyond its monetary value, and they often arrive at moments when families are still managing grief alongside administration.
We are registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and work within the Civil and Commercial Code as it applies to succession, probate, and property transfer. Our office is on Phra Narai Maharat Road, a short walk from Lopburi Provincial Court.
Our Guiding Principles
-
Measured Pace
We do not rush families through decisions. Every engagement proceeds at the pace the situation and the family allow.
-
Plain Language
Legal proceedings can be explained in terms that do not require a law degree to follow. We write and speak plainly.
-
Scope Clarity
We define the scope of every engagement in writing at the outset. Families know what they are engaging us for and what the fee covers.
-
Discretion
Family estate matters are shared with our office in confidence. They are not discussed beyond what the proceedings require.
The People
A small team working across a narrow but considered area of law.
Somchai Klaiboonma
Senior Advocate
Called to the bar in 2001 and practising inheritance law in Lopburi for over eighteen years. Leads every Full Inheritance Defense engagement personally from opening to close.
Nanthida Wattana
Associate Advocate
Specialises in probate documentation and Land Department coordination. Holds a certificate in property law from Thammasat University and has handled property transfers across eleven provinces.
Pichaya Rattanachai
Client Liaison
Manages the administrative side of every engagement and serves as the first point of contact for client enquiries. Fluent in Thai and English. Families find her presence through proceedings a quiet steadiness.
Professional Standards
How we hold ourselves to account in every matter we take on.
Bar Registration
All advocates at Lopburi Legal hold current registration with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and maintain their annual continuing legal education requirements.
Client Confidentiality
All client information is held under the professional confidentiality obligations of Thai legal practice. Engagement documents are stored securely and not shared with third parties beyond what proceedings require.
Conflict Checking
Before accepting any new matter, we conduct a conflict check across existing and past client relationships to ensure we can represent the family without divided obligations.
Written Engagements
Every engagement is set out in a written letter before work begins — the scope of work, the fee, and the basis on which either party may end the arrangement. Nothing proceeds on a verbal understanding alone.
Continuing Education
Thai succession law sees periodic amendments to subordinate regulations and court practice directions. Our advocates track these changes through the Lawyers Council and through the civil court's own publications.
Referral Network
When a matter requires expertise outside our scope — notarial services, cross-border estate planning, or specialist tax counsel — we refer to known practitioners rather than holding work we are not equipped to conduct.
Inheritance Law in Lopburi Province
Lopburi sits within the Central Plains, and its Probate Court serves the province's population with a caseload that spans straightforward intestate proceedings to more complex contested estate matters. Families dealing with agricultural land, commercial property, and mixed assets in the province benefit from representation with direct familiarity with local court procedures and the Land Department's Lopburi office.
Thai succession law, as set out in Books V and VI of the Civil and Commercial Code, establishes a structured framework for how estates pass between generations. The appointment of an estate administrator by the court, the publication of proceedings, and the eventual registration of property transfers all take place within that framework — each stage requiring accurate preparation and timely filing.
Where a deceased person left a will, the court must be satisfied as to its validity before the document governs distribution. Where no will exists, the statutory hierarchy applies, and the administrator appointed by the court carries the obligation to distribute the estate in accordance with it. Either path requires careful documentation.
Our practice is narrow by choice. We do not take on commercial litigation, family disputes unconnected to estates, or criminal matters. The focus allows us to maintain a depth of practice in succession and probate work that would be difficult to sustain in a broader general practice. Families dealing with an inheritance matter in Lopburi province find us prepared for the specifics of that work.
Lopburi Legal — serving central Thailand since 2006.
